While break is certainly a time to kick back, celebrate making it through an entire semester alive, and relax, it's also a time to get ready to have a great next semester! The more prepared you are for the semester, the easier it is to work your way back into the school routine. Here I have some tips on how to get yourself ready to tackle it!
Buy your textbooks as soon as you know what you need.
Don't wait until the last second! If you get your textbooks from websites like Chegg, their prices change based on supply and demand. Since everyone is selling their textbooks at the end of the semester, that's the cheapest time you'll get them! The longer you wait, the more expensive they'll be.
Look over your books when you get them.
Now, I'm not saying you need to start taking notes as soon as your books arrive, but do try to look at the content. You can see what you'll be learning about over the next semester, and see if anything sounds especially interesting or difficult. You might also get an idea for how your class will be set up.
Create a notes list.
This is definitely an optional step, and is something I'm trying for the first time this semester. I know it might seem like a lot of work, but if you're serious about taking notes for a class, you should do it! I broke it down by each section in a chapter, but if you'd rather just have it set up chapter by chapter that works just as well.
Set up your planner.
I always make it a habit to write my schedule down in my planner on the first week of school. I write the class, the time, and the building/room. This is incredibly helpful, especially if you're nervous about forgetting where you need to be and don't want to have it up on your phone for a solid 20 minutes trying to figure it out. Trust me, I've done that.
If you don't have a planner, now might be the time to get one! They are so helpful for keeping track of due dates, appointments, and any other thing you might want to know. There are so many different options out there, and you can even make your own! Anything works, and the range is from a dollar store weekly planner all the way up to the Hobonichi Techo.
Create a goal for the semester.
I know, this might seem pointless, but trust me, goals are super important to have! Seeing them and knowing just one thing you want to improve on in the semester can be a great motivator. And it can be something as simple as not skipping any classes, or getting your assignments done early. You can even get more detailed, and try to create/follow a study plan. It doesn't even have to be school related; you can have a goal to drink water or eat breakfast every day. Just give yourself something to work towards, and when you do it, you'll feel even more accomplished.
Set up your note taking system.
I know, this is a very general thing to say, but this is a step that depends on how you work best in a classroom. If you're someone who prefers taking notes in a binder, make sure your binder is labeled and loaded with paper. If you prefer notebooks, get them labeled with each class!
Well, those are the tips I have for you guys! If you have anything else that's a must-do in preparing for the semester, let me know! I'd love to feel as prepared as possible.

Borghese Fango Purificante Mud Mask Review
Hello everyone!
So today I have a review of a mud mask I've had in my collection for quite a while now! I've only used it a few times, by no fault of its own. I just suck at using masks!
I received this mask in my October 2015 Birchbox! I told you guys I've had it for a while. Also, feel free to ignore the sharpie lines on the packaging; it's there for my Project Use it Up.
The Fango Purificante mask is a mud mask designed to help purify your skin. I got on the Birchbox website in order to see what the rest of the claims are! It says that it has acne-fighting ingredients, reduces the appearance of pores, controls oil, and gets rid of the crap in your skin. Quite the list if I do say so myself!
They tell you to only keep the mask on from 2-5 minutes, depending on your patience and what you're feeling. For me, I keep it on for almost 5 minutes, but I should have taken it off a little earlier, as you'll see below. Once I got to the 3 1/2 to 4 minute mark, it started to burn a little bit and you can see the mask begin to dry in spots. It's also a mask you are only supposed to use once or twice a week, but it's definitely going to change on a person to person basis.
As you can see, it definitely does something! Both times I've used it, it turned my face red for about 45 minutes afterwards. I'm not sure if this might have to do with me having sensitive skin or what. I've heard other people have the same issues with it as well, so I'm not sure exactly what's going with that.
When I take the mask off, because my skin is very sensitive it kind of hurts to get it off. However, the results are very nice! My skin loses its sensitivity after it loses its redness. My pores do look tighter, but there's not a huge difference. I think if I were to use this more consistently, I'd see some awesome results, as well as a much less extreme reaction to the mask.
Since this is meant to be used for oily skin and problem areas, this might just be used on my chin, nose, and t-zone. Those are the spots on my skin that would definitely benefit most from the prolonged use of this mask, and it won't dry out my already dry patches.
Overall, I think it's a good mask! My only concern is that it'll be very uncomfortable for people with even more sensitive skin than what I have. If you are in need of a high quality charcoal mask that is potent, this might be the one for you! It is pretty pricey, though, at $37 for a full size jar. Again though, if you have oily, acne prone skin this could be your holy grail.
What do you guys think? Is the redness too much for you? Do you have the skin for it? Let me know!

Sample Round Up: November 2016
Hey guys!
I feel like I'm playing catch up from November right now! I was busier than I thought I would be and did a really bad job at posting anything for you with the exception of a few at the very beginning of the month. I don't want to just not share what I got in November, though!
So, I decided that I'm going to just share with you all of the products that I got in one mass post! I won't be going into a ton of detail with each product, simply because that would take way too long to read. I'll give a general idea of what's in it, and what I thought of the subscription as a whole this month!
First of all, whoa. Look at all the samples/products I got this month! Overall, I got 3 brushes, 4 lip products, 3 eye shadows, 2 mascaras, a nail polish, 2 makeup removers, a primer, a mask, a perfume, and a body scrub! That's plenty of brushes, and I'm pretty set on them for a while. I get at least one brush a month! I also got a lip product in every box this month; but since lip stuff is my favorite, I have no complaints!
Let's just kick this post off with my Ipsy bag for this month!

November 2016: In Review
Hey guys! I decided that I really wanted to start giving you a monthly wrap up of a whole bunch of important-to-me aspects of my life. I also thought it might be interesting to you, seeing what I've been up to!
I have a few categories that I will be sharing each month. If you notice one category there one month, and not there the next, I didn't forget it! I take them out if I haven't done anything with them.
Instead of sitting and explaining it any more, I'll just jump right into it!

Books
This month I ended reading two books, and "starting" a third one.

The first book was Misdiagnosed. It was a very interesting autobiography about a woman who was diagnosed at a young age with a disability that affected her ability to walk. She lived for this for 30 years until she was diagnosed again with the proper disease. She can now walk and live a normal life! The reason I had started reading this was because I actually listened to her speak at my university. I rated it 3.5/5 stars, and was happy with it.
The next book I read was L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad. It's about a girl and her best friend, who move to Los Angeles to start a life there. They meet a producer, who introduces them to reality TV. There's not a whole lot more to describe this book, honestly. I did enjoy it though! It definitely gave a very chick lit vibe, and would be so good to read at the beach. I hope I can find the second book soon! I have the third already. I rated this 3.5/5 as well, and liked it.
Finally, I continued reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire! I've had this started since July, and I've enjoyed it, but I've been so busy doing a million other things, I haven't been paying attention to this. It really is good, though! No rating, considering I haven't finished it yet.
If you guys are interested in more of the books I've read, check out my GoodReads and feel free to add me!

Beauty Box 5: October 2016
Hello everyone!
Today I'm coming at you with my first impressions on my October Beauty Box 5!
It looks like a pretty glam box, so I'm excited to really get to test out everything! Unfortunately, as with the past few boxes, I'm not feeling like I see anything innovative. Two brands are repeats, we've gotten nail wraps SO many times, we've gotten a lot of lotion.. I'm just not wowed.
I don't want to be a Negative Nelly though! I'm hoping that as I try these out I feel differently.
Enough rambling, let's get on to the box!

Project Pan 2017 & Project Use it Up
Hello everyone!
So since about May of this year I have been super into the idea of project panning. Basically, project panning is focusing on using up your makeup by using certain items specifically until they're all gone! I'm not sure what about it is so interesting to me, but something is.
As you guys know, I've been getting a lot of samples over the past year. Like, way more samples than I could possibly use up right away. Even after cancelling my Birchbox, I still get 3 other boxes a month! This leads to a lot of samples, and a lot of things I want to try out. Because of this, I have so many little items just sitting around and gathering dust.
I've decided to gather up all my samples from back in 2015 and make sure they all get used up in 2017! As you can see, however, there are two different projects listed above. That's because while these projects do work together in a way, they are still separate.
My project use it up is where I list specific items (in this case, the samples I received in 2015) and try to make sure they get used up throughout the time period.
My project pan 2017 is where I list a goal, or an amount, of items I want to use. For example, I want to use up 4 dry shampoos in 2017. I don't have any specific dry shampoos to use up, so it's any 4.
