Sephora Give Me More Lip Set

Hello everyone!

If you've ever read this blog or know me, you'll know that I absolutely love all lip products.  I own a beyond excessive amount, and I enjoy all of them!  I did go through a purge over the summer where I got rid of products that I didn't enjoy the colors or formulas of, but that doesn't change the ridiculousness.

I've been putting myself on a makeup no buy over the past few months, but when I saw this I knew I was in trouble.  The products this year are just amazing!  It definitely feels like a luxury set this year, too: Bobbi Brown, Dior, YSL, Hourglass, Marc Jacobs... you get my drift.  Sephora is certainly a high end store, but even then there's certainly price jumps with some brands.  It's great to try these brands and products out without dropping $30+ for one thing!

I haven't tried all of these products out; I'm more posting a "first impressions" and showing you what exactly you can expect if you buy this kit.  I feel like it's really helpful to see swatches, especially because it's nearly impossible to see the actual colors.

Let's jump in!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss "Vintage"

First up is this lip gloss from Anastasia Beverly Hills.  It's in the shade Vintage, which is a beautiful nude pink color with gold glitter throughout.  You can't really see it in the swatch; it looks just like a simple nudey pink color.  The ABH lip gloss formula is extremely thick and opaque, so if you like lip glosses that completely cover your lips, this will be a favorite!  It's not super sticky and lasts for quite a while from what I can remember.  I own two other shades of this in Kristen and Rio; I haven't tried this one yet but I hope to soon!

Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color "Brocade"
Talk about at luxury item!  This is a full size Bobbi Brown lipstick and I could not be more excited!  The bullet is massive, so if you have thin lips you might have a difficult time with application.  This is a medium purple-berry, and is an absolutely gorgeous fall shade. I haven't tried this out yet, but I've heard a lot of praise in the beauty community, so I'm hoping this will work out for me!

Dior Lip Maximizer "Pink 001"
This is the tiniest sample ever!  I'm so excited to have this, though. I feel like it's a cult classic, so it's great to have the opportunity to try it without buying a full size.  From the swatch, it didn't feel like it was sticky at all.  It looks completely clear in the swatch, so it'll be a nice gloss to just throw on top of something or wear on no makeup days!

Huda Beauty Liquid Matte "Bombshell"
I am so pumped to give this a shot!  I've heard good things about the Huda liquid lips, so I'm excited to test this for myself.  It's a very liquid formula, so if you prefer a moussey texture this may not be the product for you.  I'm a little concerned about how the color is going to look on me; it's very warm and peachy, which usually means it looks orange on me.  I personally don't like having orange lips, but I'm hopeful that it'll look great!

Hourglass Girl Lip Stylo "Influencer"
Hourglass is one of those brands that I hear so much about, but I can never justify!  I remember tons of YouTubers getting these in PR but I haven't heard much about them since.  I always love trying new lip products, especially expensive ones, so I have no complaints!  This is a super cute little sample, and the color is pretty unique.  It looks a lot more nude in the tube than in the swatch; to me it looks super brown on my skin.  I love browns, so I'm certainly happy with the color, but it's not what I expected at all.

Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lip Color Sensual "Muted Pink"
I'm going to be honest, out of every lip product in the kit this is my least favorite.  I don't like the way that a lot of pinks look on me, and this is extremely pastel.  I'll give it a fair shot, but I don't think this will show up on my lips true to color, which is unfortunate!  The formula itself is nice; I own two other Laura Mercier lipsticks.

Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang"
Talk about a cult classic!  This is an extremely popular shade of the Marc Jacobs lipsticks.  It's also really beautiful and a good formula.  Plus, can we just talk about packaging for a second? Love it!  I unfortunately don't have a good swatch; the picture came out way too blurry to use.  I'm sure if you're in the beauty community you've seen it at least once, though!

Sephora Cream Lip Stain "01 Always Red"
Another super tiny sample!  This is the Sephora collection's take on a liquid lipstick.  People always rave about this, and I certainly can't say it's a bad product.  The color is a really pretty true red that would probably flatter anyone.  I personally got this in a Sephora Play box before and wasn't super impressed.  Like I said, not a bad product!  I just didn't feel like it had blown my mind as an amazing thing that you had to have.  I did end up decluttering this for my roommates; I didn't want such a small sample rolling around.

Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick "Drivers Seat"
This is another product that I already have!  It's actually a really beautiful rusty orange color; like a wearable pumpkin shade.  The formula of the Smashbox liquid lipsticks is super comfortable and long wearing, plus the applicator is supposed to make it easier to apply. I personally don't remember if it is or not, but I do remember enjoying the formula.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Lip Rescue "Nude"
Let me just say, I absolutely adore the packaging of this.  It's so gorgeous; I might end up keeping it around after I use up the product inside.  If you look at the bullet, you can tell that there's a little nick on the top.  It did come like that, and I've noticed that a lot of other people's looked the same so it must be a packaging issue.  The color itself is a very sheer nude shade.  Honestly, this looks and feels like a balm, not a lipstick.  I've also heard you go through them pretty quickly if you use it consistently, and it's a super high price point.  Something to keep in mind if this sparks your interest!

Too Faced Melted Latex Liquified High Shine Lipstick "Hot Mess"
This was certainly the most interesting product that was in here in my opinion!  It's clearly a hot pink shade, and it's a lip gloss; that's two things I wouldn't personally put together.  It's a very sticky formula and pretty bright color for a gloss.  I'm not sure if I'll be keeping this around; it's a bad time to wear it anyway.  Maybe when it warms back up I'll pull this back out to see if I really want it.

Touch In Sol Metallist Liquid Foil Lipstick Duo "5 Jasmine & Brownie"
Talk about an interesting choice to put in the box!  It's a gloss and a foil that you layer to make the color on the left.  I do like the colors separately, but the formula is something interesting to work with.  One side is like a gloss, and the other side is similar to a gel.  I can't make a full judgement on it until I try it out for myself, but right now it's ranking a little low on my scale of wanting to use.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick "Big Bang"
Talk about a bang!  This color is pretty intense.  As you can tell from the swatch, it's a hot pink glitter shade.  This would be pretty fun for either going out or a wacky holiday party, but I definitely will use this sparingly.  The formula was a little gel-like when I swatched it and I noticed that as I tried to build it up, it started to just move around and pull up.  Hopefully it applies a little better on the lips!

Wander Beauty Wanderout Dual Lipstick "Nikki Beach & B.B."
This is a really cool product!  I really like the fact that it has two different lipsticks in one product, because it would be easy to flip from day at work to night out if that's something you were interested in doing.  The nude side is way more pink than I had expected so I don't plan to wear it until next spring, but I really do enjoy the formula. The finish on them is super pretty and the colors are nice.  It's not incredibly long-lasting, but I'm not really surprised about that.

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture "N 01 Le Rouge"
If anything in this box feels like a luxury item, it is this lipstick!  The packaging is gorgeous and I am obsessed with the power red color.  I don't love the scent of the product but from previous experience with YSL lipsticks it does go away.  I have a feeling this is going to be my lipstick pick for the holiday season and I couldn't be more excited!

Well, that's the entire kit for you!  As you can tell, there were a lot of winners in here and only a few that had me wondering what exactly they were thinking.  I've tried a few of these out already and I'm super excited to keep trying as I go.  I'm hoping that I'll end up loving every product in here, but even if I don't it was super exciting to get all of them!

What's your favorite product from the kit? Have you tried any of these before? Let me know!

December Colourpop Haul

Hey everyone!

I know, it feels like I just put up a haul post a few weeks ago, but tis the season for spending money!  I got hooked by the kit deals and by the free lipsticks I'd get, honestly. Darn companies for hitting my weakness every time!

I really enjoy Colourpop liquid lipsticks, and I've already owned a few (6 I think?) so when I saw the chance to buy a bunch of minis and get free full size lipsticks I had to jump on it. I love trying the new shades out, plus I get to try the formulas on their Ultra Satin and Ultra Metallic lipsticks, so it was worth it!

Here's the haul for you in all of its glory! If you couldn't tell, liquid lipsticks are my downfall.

The first set I got is "Foxy", which is five of their Ultra Matte liquid lipsticks in their OG colors.  This is the first liquid formula they came out with, as well as the first and only formula I've tried until this haul.  The colors are all from their original launch, and you could consider them staples in any Colourpop lover's collection.

Here they are swatched! From top to bottom: Beeper, Tulle, More Better, Clueless, and Creeper.  I personally really enjoy the way they all look, and am super excited to try them out and add them to my collection!

The next set I got is the "On a Whim" set, which comes with five of their Ultra Satin liquid lipsticks, which is essentially their revamped version of the Ultra Mattes. These are a little less matte, and a lot less drying from what I've heard. I personally have yet to try them on my lips, but with these nudes I don't think I'll be forcing myself!

Here's the swatch of them! Again, from top to bottom: Magic Wand, Mess Around, Stud, Toolips, and Dopey.  I'm really pumped to try these out! There are a few similar shades if you look between the two sets, but with a different formula I'm completely okay with it. Plus, I'm a lipstick hoarder anyway.

Finally, as part of their deal, I got three Ultra Metallic liquid lipsticks.  I have been admiring these for quite some time, but I was nervous about buying them because I've never seen a metallic on me before.  Plus, it was between these and their Ultra Glossy lips, and I really am not a fan of gloss.

Let me just say, I have some kind of strong opinions. Also, ignore the left over swatch; it wouldn't come off!  From top to bottom: Zebra, Mugshot, Kween.  The formula for the most part was a moussey texture, and a lot thicker than the Ultra Matte and Satins.

Each of these had a slightly different formula, but you can definitely see that in the swatches.  The top swatch, Zebra, was completely opaque in one dip into the container.  The middle swatch, Mugshot, needed a little extra to make it totally opaque, but in my opinion it is the most wearable shade and is simply stunning on the lips.

Kween was the biggest disappointment to me.  I really struggled to get a decent swatch, and it took a lot of swirling around in the container to get product. Once I got it started it swatched better, but I was getting a little frustrated with the time it took to build the color. As you can see in the picture, it is far more glittery looking than the other two as well.  I'm going to need to work with this one to see if I want to keep it or not, but hey, it was free!

Overall, I'm really happy to have purchased everything I did. Not only did I get some iconic shades, I also gave myself the opportunity to try new things I wouldn't have otherwise and fell in love with something I never thought I would!

What do you guys think? Have you tried Colourpop before?  Which shade is your favorite? Let me know!

Sephora Current Loves List - Summer 2017

Hello everyone!

Today I wanted to share some of the products I have on my Sephora Love's list right now!  This definitely isn't everything that I'm interested in from there, but I wanted to show you guys what sounded like something fun for me to try from their newer makeup launches.

1. Anastasia Bevery Hills Matte Lipstick - $18
Dead Roses
Rosewood
These lipsticks are a new release and there are so many different shades!  I ended up picking two of the deeper neutral shades that I'd like to give a try. As you can tell, they're very similar colors, just different undertones. I love cool toned lipsticks on me! I think they make me look really great.  Warm toned lipsticks are more of a mixed bag; sometimes I look good in them and other times they happen to be super orange and just not for me.  I chose the darker colors because my lips are really pigmented and I hate when I can see my natural lip color peaking through!

2. Burberry Beauty Box - $35
I have a bit of a confession to make: I love the idea of luxury makeup, especially Burberry. I have Burberry print scarves and skirts on my huge wish list of clothes; I have a thing for them. Unfortunately, I can't afford it!  I love this beauty box because it comes with their lipstick (my obsession), their Cat Lashes mascara, Fresh Glow primer, and Light Glow highlighter. It's a wide range of products that I'd never be able to justify individually, but as a set?  Sign me up!

3.  Pretty Vulgar Early Bird Eyeshadow Palette - $35
I watched Jessica Braun on YouTube reviewing Pretty Vulgar cosmetics, and she gave a raving review for the eyeshadow palettes.  This one caught my eye the most; the colors are stunning! I really don't wear all that much makeup (which is crazy considering the amount I own), however I have been obsessed with pink toned eyeshadows lately. There's just something about them that really draws me in!  Hearing her talk about the great quality of this palette combined with the stunning colors, packaging, and reasonable price (for Sephora), I knew this was definitely going on my want list.

4. Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon - $24
Pastille
Cava
Tatin
It's really no secret; Bite Beauty is hands down my favorite lipstick company. I am in love with their Amuse Bouche lipsticks.  I also have two samples of their Lip Crayons that I really enjoy, and so I figure, why not try more of them?  I picked three shades that I would really love to give a shot.  Obviously, they're a little more unique!  Pastille is a great dark nude for me, Cava is a really gorgeous light greige, and Tatin is a pink that might work on my lips since it's dark and rosey!  I'd love to give these a shot; they're clearly a bit more expensive than other lipsticks, however!

5. Tory Burch Love Relentlessly (1 oz) - $68
The final product I wanted to list on here is this fragrance!  I just finished off a sample of it, and wowza was it good!  It was incredibly light and fresh, and also floral.  It reminded me of a sweet floral, and honestly I just loved it!  The bottle is really pretty and in terms of price, this isn't the most expensive fragrance I've seen.  That being said, it's also not the cheapest; however, I'd be willing to pay for it.  It's honestly just a lovely smell. I have the notes listed below as well, since really I'm no good at describing scents.
Notes: Pink Pepper, Rose, Orris, Sandalwood

This is actually not my entire list of wants from Sephora; I have other items I really want as well!  These are just the new releases, or items I've recently added that I really want to try out.  I may do a "oldie but goodie" edition, where I showcase five items that I'm interested in trying out that aren't new products, or some similar idea!

I'm hoping to get back into posting on the blog once a week, but I also know that making plans and promises is the exact way to be sure I don't get back on schedule!  At this point in time, I'm super busy and I may post a life update next week about what's going on in my exciting day to day.  Either way, hopefully I'll get back to putting something up when I can!

Quarter .5 Empties & Progress

Hey everyone!

Sorry I've been so hidden this month, I've had quite a bit going on that you'll read about in my January 2017 Month in Review when that's up!  I'm sorry I've been putting you on the backburner, but school does come first!

Anyway, today I'm going to share with you my Project Use it Up and Rolling Project Pan progress and empties!  If you don't know what either of those are, check out my post here.  If you still have questions, please let me know!

Calling this quarter .5 might seem strange, but since my projects were technically supposed to start in January and I was too excited to wait, I just decided to start them when I created them.  All of the products in this post were used up from October to December of 2016.

In total, I used up 12 products this quarter!  All of the items go towards my Rolling Project Pan, but only a few were products from my Use it Up unfortunately!

These are the three that count in my Use it Up!  First was the Klorane Dry Shampoo with Goat Milk.  I really enjoyed the way it made my hair feel clean and fresh after using it, and I'm kind of sad to see it gone!  I also used the Kaunis Anti-Aging Mask, which was a sheet mask and super easy to use up. I don't remember it doing anything special for my face so I wouldn't buy it.  Plus, I don't need any anti-aging products.  Finally, I used up the Balanced Guru coffee scrub. I didn't like the smell, but the scrub itself worked just fine. It was a little messy, too, but no surprise there.

Aside from using up three products, I got rid of two lip products; the Mica Beauty Lip Pot in "Velvet Rose", and the Elizabeth Mott Tints & Sass Lip + Cheek Stain in "Red".  I just didn't like the format of either of these products and so I decided to get rid of them and not worry about the hassle.

Now I'm going to move on to my Rolling Project Pan!  I'll give you each pic by category, and then I'll give the numbers and how I'm doing with that.

First I have my bodycare items.  Again, I used up the Balanced Guru Body Scrub.  In 2017 I want to use up 3, and I've used 1 as of this quarter.  I also used this Aveeno Skin Relief Gentle Lotion. This worked fine, but the coconut scent wasn't my favorite at all.  I want to use up 6 and have a stretch goal of 4, and so far I've used 1.

This is the fragrance category, and as you can tell I've only used one, but I am so proud of it. This is the Ralph Lauren Polo Blue, and I got this as a gift from my mom a long time ago. Like, probably 5 years at least. Super old!  The smell is wonderful, but the lasting power wasn't really there. Then again, I don't know if that's because the perfume was so aged.  For my fragrance goals I want to use up 30 with a stretch goal of 5, and I've used one. I know this seems like a high goal but the small sample fragrances do count!

For hair care, I have three items.  The first is the Klorane dry shampoo, and for dry shampoo I want to use up 4, and so far I've used 1. The foil packets are a shampoo and conditioner duo by Hask; their argan oil repairing set.  I really liked this, and I'd consider buying it when I get through all my other stuff!  I want tot use up 12 Shampoos/Conditioners with a stretch goal of 2, and I've used up 2 so far.

Next, I have all of my makeup empties!  First, I have 2 makeup removers I used up. They're the Olay Makeup Remover wipes and the GBC Green Tea makeup remover wipes. I honestly really enjoyed both of these! They both worked very well, but the green tea wipes were really thin and ripped easily. I think they're super cheap though, so that's not surprising.  For makeup removers, I want to use up 5 with a stretch of 1, and I've used up 2.

Next, I have my Sugar Rose Lip Treatment. I have very mixed feelings on this product, but I have another one I can try out so I'll maybe be able to form a full opinion.  For lip balms I want to use up 5 with a stretch of 1, and I've used up 1.  Finally, I have a Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, which many people have heard of, I'm sure!  Honestly, I didn't like it a lot, as it flaked on me terribly. I'm going to retry it and not let it get dry before I give it a chance.  I want to use up 3 mascaras with a stretch of 1, and I've used 1 so far.

I've used two items in the skincare category so far.  The first is the Kaunis sheet mask.  For masks I want to use up 4 with a stretch of 2, and I've used up 1.  Next, I have the Biore Charcoal nose strips. These didn't work as well as I had hoped unfortunately, so I just wanted to get them out.  I counted them into my Cleanser/Exfoliator category, and for that I want to use up 4 with a stretch of 3, and I've used 1.

Well, that's it!  I'm not super impressed with my totals so far, but it's technically just the start of 2017 so I have an entire year to go.  I know I need to do a better job at focusing on certain products, even if I'm not doing too hot on that so far. I'm hoping to get myself onto a good routine and that should help with getting things out faster.

What do you think? Are you trying to get rid of products? Let me know!

Hugs and Kisses,
The Cornfed Princess
